Constitution and Bylaws Read August 6, 1930, Adopted August 20, 1930
The name of this organization shall be “The Rock
Creek Social Club”.
The object of this Club Shall be to promote the social, moral, intellectual, and physical of the Rock Creek Community.
This Club shall be composed of ladies residing in the Rock Creek Community, excepting the present membership of this club, be it known that future membership be limited to the number of thirty.
The authorized meetings of this Club shall be the first and third Wednesdays of the month, said meetings to be held at the homes of the various members.
The dues of the Club shall be one dollar and fifty cents $1.50 per year. Any member failing to pay said dues for a year forfeits her membership in this Club.
Officers of this Club shall be – President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Duties of the Officers:
A - Duties of the President
1. The
President shall preside at all the meetings.
2. The
President shall appoint all committees.
B – Duties of the Vice President
1. The
Vice President shall preside in the absence of the President.
2. The
Vice President shall fill the Presidents chair in case of a vacancy.
C – Duties of the Secretary
1. The
Secretary shall attend to all correspondence, keep a detailed record of all
meetings and report same to the club.
2. The
Secretary shall report all meetings to the newspapers.
3. The
Secretary shall notify in writing all prospects of their invitations to become
members and explain the duties of member’s dues, and etc., to the same.
D – Duties of the Treasurer
1. The
Treasurer shall collect all dues, keep accurate account of the same, and render
financial reports to the club
2. The
Treasurer shall send flowers to all sick members, and in case of death in the
immediate family
3. The
Treasurer shall notify all members of delinquent dues not later than November
first.
Committee: This club shall have the following committees:
1. A
program committee
2. A
nominating committee
3. Such
other committees as the club deem necessary
Time of Election:
Officers
shall be elected the first meeting in December. New officers shall begin duties January first and shall serve for
a period of one year.
1. Members
shall pay dues on or before December First.
2. Members
shall report sickness or death to the treasurer.
3. Members
shall entertain according to the program or provide her own change.
4. Members
shall refrain from all gossip.
It is the privilege of the Club to invite those eligible for membership to form a waiting list and request those invited to either accept or reject within a short period of time.
This constitution may be altered or amended by a two thirds vote of the members present at any regular meeting, notice of the proposed change having been read at the last regular meeting.
The Rock Creek community to be bounded on the
North by the Lariat Lane, on the South by the Headly Lane, on the East by the
Clarence Jones Lane and no given line for the West boundry.
